Manama, Jan 8 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is on a two-day visit to Bahrain, has met King Hamd bin Isa Al Khalifa and discussed issues pertaining to bilateral relations.

Sharif met the king Wednesday at the Sakhir Palace, Geo News reported.

Bahraini Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, four Bahraini deputy prime ministers, the Shura Council speaker and Chairman of Council of Representatives along with high ranking Cabinet Ministers were also present at the meeting.

Sharif also invited the King of Bahrain to attend first ever Islamic Summit on Science and Technology in Islamabad later this year.

Sharif said tremendous economic development taking place in Bahrain was impressive and Pakistan could help in its socio-economic development through the provision of manpower, Radio Pakistan reported.

He said Pakistan is looking forward to early establishment of the Pakistan Energy Fund that would open new vistas of cooperation in the field of energy.

Sharif also appreciated Bahrain's offer of setting up a medical college in Pakistan.
