Mangalore, Jan 1: The Bajpe unit of ICYM celebrated its 35th annual day on Monday December 25 with Christmas celebrations ‘Natalanchi Saanz 2006.’

The chief guest on the occasion was Pezar deanery Vicar Forane Fr John Mendonca while Bajpe parish priest Fr Mathias Periera presided.

Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions organised by ICYM.

Playwright Percy Urwa was honoured on the occasion. A souvenir marking the 35th annual day was released.

Cultural programmes were held as part of the celebrations in which the Catholic Sabha of Bajpe put up a skit.

Assistant director of the unit and assistant parish priest Austin Fernandes, ZP member Victoria D’Cunha, TP member Lawrence Rebello, central diamond jubilee celebration committee assistant convener Anil Permai, vice-president parish council Sylvester D’Souza, ICYM central committee vice-president Kevin D’Souza, ICYM Bajpe unit president Arun Pinto and secretary Jovita Nazareth were present on the dais.
