Kundapur, Feb 6: The British Council International School Award (ISA) is an accreditation scheme that recognizes and celebrates exemplary practices of internationalism in schools.

Green Valley National School, Shiroor is proud to have accomplished these projects. The ISA journey for Green Valley National School, Shiroor commenced in June 2014 and was a great beginning and learning experience for the entire team. All activities that were chosen were linked to the existing curriculum thereby providing for greater enrichment in learning. Green Valley was linked with Papa Toe High school Auckland (New Zealand) John Paul II School in Poland, from Spain, Oman and Srilanka.

The valedictory of the ISA projects was held at Green Valley on February 4 with a seminar on 'waste management' by Katherine and Peter and a seminar on 'role of students in environment' by Max from Denmark. Our team of experts who led the seminar were the following:-

Katherine Peter from Germany
Max from Denmark
Frank from South Korea
Chang from South Korea
Tilman from Germany
Peter from Belgium

It was a wonderful session of activities and interaction for the students. The panel highlighted the need for balancing environment and development and enlightened the audience on the need for a clean and safe environment.

John Mathew, principal welcomed the dignitaries. Jeevan from FSL India briefed on their programme. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rhea of I PUC. She thanked the experts. Students had a display and exhibition of activities conducted as part of the ISA. There were several displays of creative work created from waste materials. The programme was followed by a country to country interaction by the panel and the students.
