Kuwait, Mar 4: To Mark the World Kidney Day, the Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA) and the Indian Doctors Forum (IDF) in Kuwait are jointly conducting a Kidney Awareness Seminar on Friday, 9th March 2007 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:30 p.m.

The principal focus of the seminar titled as ‘Are Your Kidneys OK?’ is to raise awareness of chronic kidney disease and its associated cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, and to draw attention to the urgent global need for early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease.

Globally about one person in ten in the general population, has some degree of chronic kidney disease.  Simple and inexpensive tests can be done that detect individuals who have chronic kidney disease.  Early diagnosis is crucial, as lifestyle and dietary changes, as well as enhanced care at the community level, can delay or even stop progression of the disease.

The IDF-KKMA seminar will look at various aspects of the disease and stress the importance on early detection and prevention.  All are welcome.

His Excellency the Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Mr. M. Ganapathi has kindly consented to inaugurate the event.  Officials from Kuwait Medical Association and Kuwait Association of Nephrologists also will be present as guest of honors.  This will be followed by multi media presentations and question answer sessions by eminent nephrologists from Kuwait.

We are delighted to invite your association members to participate in this informative seminar.
