Dubai, Apr 1: Lourdes Kanajar Association of Emirates held its 7th annual general body meeting on the 30th March 2007 to present its annual report and to elect a new committee. The meeting was organized in the form of an outdoor family event and nearly 60 Kanajarians gathered on this occasion at Dubai’s Creek Park.

The meeting started with a prayer by Frank Lobo, followed by a welcome speech from outgoing president Lawrence D’Souza. Thomas Saldanha briefly read out the events and cultural activities carried out in 2006 and most importantly the contributions towards the poor children education fund back home. Soon after the introduction game, the election was conducted and the following members were elected for the year 2007.

LKAE welcomes our new team on board who have gladly accepted their responsibilities to serve for our Parish and to continue the good work carried out by previous committees. Their names are as below:


President:  Alwyn D’Souza
Vice-President: Thomas Sequeira
Gen. Secretary: Elsie Lobo
Treasurer:  Joy D’Souza
Cultural Secretary: Melwyn Mendonca  
Sports Secretary: Aloysius D’Souza

Advisory Committee: Thomas Saldanha, Lawrence D’souza, Stanley D’Souza & Frank Lobo.

Committee Members: Pramila Pais, Vijay Barboza, Jyothi Aranha, Austin Barboza, Anil D’Souza, John Saldanha, Wilfred Mendonca & Prakash Saldanha





    
The afternoon session started after lunch with continuation of games for children as well as adults.


The delicious buffet lunch was prepared by Canara Restaurant, Karama. The gifts were distributed at the end of the day before the crowd dispersed at 4 pm.
