Kuwait, May 21: Pioneer of socio-cultural quality entertainment and producer of regular hit shows, Indian Cultural Society (ICS) proudly presents 'Jhalak with Remo D’souza'. Remo is India’s highly ranked choreographer, actor and film director. Besides performing, he also shares his views and imparts his knowledge to motivate 12 participating dance academies of Kuwait.
The uniqueness of this event is that, ICS intends to only show case dancing talents of Kuwait without any sort of competition, audition or discrimination within groups. It will be purely and surely to motivate and appreciate Kuwait’s performers. Well known Shakira of Gujarat, playback singer cum stage performer Anita Sharma will add flavor to the evening by performing along with playback singer Chirag Thakkar and orchestra.
In another 'first' in Kuwait, for which ICS is well known, the format is designed only to encourage local participation and entertainment; while the only challenge for Kuwait’s choreographers and dance teachers is to showcase their talent in front of Remo D’souza.
Remo D'souza:
Remo D'souza is a well known icon in the Indian film industry as a dancer, choreographer, actor and film director. Although he is mainly involved in choreography of Bollywood films, he has also contributed to other Indian film industries, mainly Bengali cinema. He is currently in the panel of judges for 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' show along with Indian actress Madhuri Dixit and famous director Karan Johar. His first directorial venture was, FALTU, which was successful at the box office. He then produced India's first 3D dance movie, ABCD - Anybody Can Dance and is now busy for its sequel ABCD 2.
Remo has received screen awards for best choreographer for the song 'Badtameez Dil' in the film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in January 2014, and Renault Star Guild Awards for best choreographer for 'Badtameez Dil' and 'Balam Pichkari' of the same film. Series of hit films are witness for his superb choreography and dance techniques like; Jai Ho, Entertainment, O Teri, Tum Bin, Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar, Road, Krrish 3, Patiala House, London Dreams, Budha Hoga Tera Baap, Zila Gaziabaad, Rock On, Kidnap, Ugli and Pagli, Maharthi, Mission Istanbul, Speed, Rocky, Marigold, Tom Dick and Herry, Apna Sapna Money Money, Sathiya, Kaante, Dhoom, Jo Bole Sonihal, Shabd, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Chocolate, Apharan, Jaane Hoga Kya, Love Breakups Zindagi (as Remo D'souza) etc. Few of the famous shows he had been part of the panel of judges include Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and 6 with Madhuri Dixit and Karan Johar, Dance India Dance (season 1, 2, 3 and doubles), Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 with Madhuri Dixit and Malaika Arora Khan, Dance Ke Superstars with Shiamak Davar, Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe as a guest judge, Nach Baliye 5 as a guest judge and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 with Madhuri Dixit, Maksim and Karan Johar.
