Mangalore, Apr 6: Unaided school teachers staged a protest at Sahyadri Teachers Traing school near Capitanio on Friday April 6 at around 10 am.
They boycotted the evaluation of ‘Social Science’ answer scripts of SSLC examination alleging that they were not being paid the right remuneration.
Dayananda Patali, one of the teachers, said that all the teachers who were evaluating the ‘Social Science’ answer scripts would be working for 9 days. In total, teachers evaluate 204 scripts in 9 days. But the administration has agreed to pay the dearness allowance only for 8 and half days.
"At the same time, ‘Mathematics’ teachers are only evaluating 176 answer scripts. But they are getting dearness allowance for all the 9 days. Why are they discriminating social science teachers?" he sought to know.
The teachers demanded dearness allowance for all the 9 days they were working.
