Mangalore, Apr 26: When the summer heat happens to be just unbearable and the local boys have a long stretch of holidays ahead of them, what can we expect them to do?

Just freak out in the rivers and at seashores and splash to one's heart's content, what else?

Even when doing so, some courageous lot show a lot of skill and acrobatics as our pics here show. ( We can spot a girl too.)

They display their feat, with their feet and all limbs, which would impress anyone, even staying afloat on polyurethane blocks.

And if they see any mediaperson capturing their feats for record, their showmanship is doubled and enthusiasm multiplied.

This was the experience of our photographer Sphoorti Ullal, who found the subjects in an increasingly playful mood as more pictures were clicked.

Incidentally, 'Sphoorti' can mean inspiration, enthusiasm, verve, zest and so on.

Be it mishaps, events or even communal riots, Sphoorti has shown tremendous courage and spirit in being right on the spot and capturing action pics.

Hats off, Sphoorti, may your 'sphoorti' never be down.
