Mangaluru, Aug 2: Tulu movie 'Yeregla Panodchi', directed by Kodlu Ramakrishna and produced by Mohandas Pai and Balakrishna Kalaburgi under the banner of Kudlu Creations, will be released in September.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Saturday August 1, Ramakrishna said, "This is different from all my other comedy movies. This is a complete comedy entertainer and the story is similar to things that happen in every house. This is my 25th movie. I have directed 'Ratri Pagel' and 'Tudar' before in Tulu. I wanted to do a Tulu movie long back but the market was not good. But now tulu movies are doing well. So I asked my friends to produced this movie and they agreed.
"Ninety percent of the artistes in this movie are from this region. This is completely a family movie, full of comedy that can be watched with the whole family. Nowadays distributors do not come forward to take movies even after the production is complete. But it is really good that distributors are asking to distribute our movie even before its completion," he added.
"As many as 15 Tulu movies are coming up in a row. This will create competition among ourselves. The movies which are doing well also need to be removed. So I request the makers of Tulu movies to do a movie only if the story is good," he said.
"We are planning to release the movie in September. The story is inspired from my movie 'Yaarigu Helbedi' but it is entirely different from that movie. Only the title is similar," Ramakrishna said.
Actor Shivadwaj said, "Tulu is close to my heart and I could not say no to a Tulu movie. There are very good artistes in this movie. This movie is coming up very nicely. The producers are new, so I wish they produce more and more movies in future."
Actress Neetu said, "I have rendered my voice before for other people in Tulu movies. For the first tme after 'Koti Chennaya' I am getting a chance to act in Kodlu Ramakrishna's 25th movie. I am delighted and thank Kodlu sir for this opportunity."
Actor Shivadwaj, Neetu, Sandeep Shetty, Arvind Bolar, Bojaraj Vamanjoor, Sundara Rai, Shobha Rai, Roopa, Raksha and Suresh Manjeshwar, Anitha Bhat, Ravi Suratkal, Pradeep Alva, Kavitha Rai will be seen in different roles in the movie.
The story by Banashankari, with cinematography by Shashidar and music by Giridar Diwan and lyrics by Dr Umesh.
Movie producers B L Murali and S K Shetty, Raksha Karkal, Anitha Bhat and others were present.
