Seeing the lackadaisical attitude of the authorities to the big issue of 'killer buses', it appears nothing is going to happen!!

Perhaps because of these 'yamdooths', DK should be having one of the highest mortality rates in the developed cities of our country!!

The chances of perishing/getting maimed for life in a road accident, even while walking on the roads is the highest in Mangluru!! God Save this place!! Jai Hind!!

RTO has gone blind followed by the govt. When senseless uneducated people sit in top positions, these sort of incidents ll keep happening. I pity on the passengers who risk their lives in this buses travelling from Mang-Udupi. I myself experienced once and i got shock of my life. Senior citizens have to get down away from stops and the conductors yell at them to get down quickly, for commission sake these crappy drivers put our life in stake. Private buses know it very well that people are helpless and they are bound to travel in these buses as there is no proper safe transportation. Govt or private buses, if there is speed limits set with strict penalties and cancel the license all this can be controlled. Because of hefty bribes paid under the table, no one takes any action. This news will be around for few days and vanish as usual. Appreciate all the commentors for sharing their positive views, I wonder if these comments are any useful to the govt. We are still living in stone age. Hope there is a systematic change.

    Barbarian drivers and conductors. :)

Reckless driving should not be considered as accident .It should be considered as manslaughter (not amounting to murder)

The 90% of the accident in highway is happening from this express bus service.
why the political parties dont take any interest to stop this, which is killing so many people every year.

I request of MP to look into it and introduce Metro starting from Mangalore to Manipal. This can save many lifes and also give save highway, safe transport for people and a good look to the city.
Mr. MP plz make our city smart. Take it as a challenge man....

Nationalize Udupi-Mangalore route and introduce more responsible KSRTC buses to save lives of millions of road users and passengers. Mangalore private bus lobby is very powerful with backdoor political backing. See how many times RTO meeting to introduce JNURM buses are getting postponed without basic decisions. The latest reason was advocate has to appear for their cause at Udupi. If the DC had will to move ahead, he could have asked them to arrange alternate lawyers for the time being or to give priority for attending the Mangalore issue. Nothing happened. Perhaps, he do not prefer to be targeted by government for upright stand. Introduction of trains in Bangalore-Mangalore route is another issue blocked by private bus lobby. Lakhs of crores of rupees invested for railway line and infrastructure in this route is under-utilised. A sheer national waste and drain to exchequer! The issue was strongly criticized by Karnataka High Court recently. The Government for the people and by the people is an outdated definition of democracy. Big industry houses and lobbies decide the government and the elected representative and government respond quid-pro-quo. Democracy has become a livelihood for politicians who will be a gross misfit in any other productive environment. They are resorting to mean tricks and means to protect it even at the cost of the Republic!

Unless these outdated rogue pvt. bus service is not stopped and a professional service like Mumbai BEST not introduced, such types of incidents will continue every other day causing immense loss of life and limbs!! Only the public can do it by starting a large scale movement to get these 'yamdhoots' out!! Jai Mangluru

AKMS or BKMS all are the same.only thing is that we should have the courage to face them as I always play with them if they put horn continuously from my behind for no reason.
they drive like their father's own road.Just don't care for them. Then only they will come to the line.

AKMS buses are terror on road!. Don't know why Police and RTO are mum even though AKMS buses have been involved in many regular accidents in recent times!?. They flout all laws/rules/safety but still authorities never care!. Its better to take your vehicle off road if you see a AKMS bus either directly or in the rear view mirror!. Looks they know how to grease the concerned!

The competition of the pvt. buses in city of udipi mangalore is so high for getting passengers that intolerable and uncontrollable. Like major cities in Karnataka the govt. should bring ksrtc buses on these lines and within city (citibuses). to minimize such incidents.

Once these buses brought on the road no schedule servicing, preventive maintenance till it breaks down or involves in accident. Finally they have a excuse saying "brake fail". They have to carry out daily inspection and preventive maintenance before bringing the vehicles on road.

WHY DO YOU CALL IT ACCIDENT. IT IS NOT. IT IS RECKLESS DRIVING ON THE ROAD.

CAN THE RTO PUT AN END TO THIS AS WELL AS THE NON-SENSE THAT IS GOING ON THE HIGHWAYS AND INSIDE THE CITY AS WELL?

Inchara...first photo taken from inside broken glass of express bus.

    Cannot make out easily.
Accident occured may be due to slippery of road in rainy season.
Cannot able to control due to oncoming of other vehicles.
    Otherwise express drivers are good.

These bus stop suddenly in middle of the road to pick passengers, without caring for other vehicles following behind.

Let this be a eye opener for such bus drivers, should learn from mistakes.

Innocent passengers and motorists have to suffer, and thats the sad part.

People/passengers are blaming to departments. Dept Peoples (RTO and Police) are sitting in their concerned offices with ACs they will not bother about someone’s life. My question is why passengers are mute spectators while drivers racing the buses. Passengers should stand and say stop the bus. Will he (driver) race the bus???

It is good that another bus itself hit to the bus which stopped. buses should stop in bus stand not one road. that is also no intimation of stopping like if there is no break light then how will the behind vehicle driver will understand. all have to be realistic.if RTO unable to come out with all major rules let the RTO come out with smal rules like how they are behind honking same thing all the buses should stop in the bus stand itself not on the road and troubling others. also a good fine for the buses which dont have break lights

I 100% agree with you. Most of us are dumb spectators, and accept whatever they do.Let us show AAM AADMI POWER and tame this reckless drivers. Not only bus drivers, each and every person involved in SERVICE industry, doesn't know ABC of service. They think they are doing a favours to passengers ! Even if you are standing next to the driver, the conductor will shout " dumbu pole, dumbu pole !
