Mangaluru: Dr H N Gopalkrishna appointed MCC commissioner

Mangaluru, Aug 5: Dr H N Gopalkrishna, a KAS officer, has been appointed the new commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation.

The post of MCC commissioner was lying vacant ever since the transfer of Hephsiba Rani Korlapati in June this year.

Dr Gopalkrishna is presently serving as the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) in Hassan.

The Karnataka government on Wednesday August 5 announced transfers/appointments of 49 officers in the state, including that of Dr Gopalkrishna.

Also, Mangaluru ADC Sadashiva Prabhu has been transferred to Udupi while Udupi ADC Kumar has been transferred to Mangaluru.

The previous commissioner of MCC Hephsiba Rani Korlapati was transferred to Vijaypura following much backdoor activities by several corporators and political leaders who did not approve of her style of functioning. Her transfer came just six months after her appointment on January 1 this year. She was the third MCC commissioner to be transferred in one year.

    Dr Gopalakrishna,

    Please allow Mayor and ruling party to meddle with contractors and take commission from them....then they love you and keep your photo,s in their bedrooms....you can have the post till you retire,...or till CONgress is kicked out in 2018,,,, which even happens first.....

    Khao aur Khane do......being a KAS officer we know your "juttu" is with Siddu.,.so we are sure you will allow this and survive.,,
