Mangaluru, Aug 6: Three terror suspects were produced in the third additional sessions court here on Thursday August 6.
The terror suspects, Syed Mohammed Naushad, Ahmed Bava Abubakker and Shabbir Bhatkal, were produced in the court in connection with the seizure of explosives at Mukkachery, Ullal in 2007.
Among the three, Naushad and Abubakker were brought to the city by Mumbai police.
Thirteen persons are accused in the case, out of which five are absconding and four others - Javed Ali, Mohammed Ali, Mohammed Rafiq and Fakir Ahmed - are out on bail. Shabbir Bhatkal is lodged in Mangaluru district jail.
The police in 2007 had raided a house at Mukkachery in Ullal and found explosives. Seven persons including two from Ullal and and four from Mangaluru had been arrested in the case. It was during then that police received information about terrorist activities in Mangaluru and around, which later led to revelations about Indian Mujahideen co-founder and other suspected terrorists' activities in the city.
The accused face charges under anti-terror laws and illegal possession of weapons.
