Whats your motive for such a large investment? Everyone know there are no free lunches in this world! To say 'a single tree will be not be cut for the ution of the plan' is a very tall claim. Mr BR Shetty, would appreciate if you would come clean with details of your plan and the objectives behind such a large investment!

This of course is a tall order. With scarcity of water, plans must be made to preserve it. The yettinahole project is diverting our resources outwards. If the scarcity of rain continues there wont be enough water for Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer to enthrall us. And building a small airport doesn't make sense as it will be requiring a vast area, the area having it's own biodiversity will be affected. The funds though well meant could be used for other useful purposes to help the local populace.

Before starting the other project why not completing the Mangalore Airport project job? Mangalore Airport extension work and exit road work is still pending. Exit road was closed only for six months.

Honnavar or Kumta would have been a better place for an airport. Honnavar or Kumta can also be developed into a major all weather port. Jog Falls is not too far away too. The Defence airport coming up in Ankola will serve only the Indian Navy.

Even though the plan looks good on the paper, Jog falls area has already degraded a lot due to rampant deforestation and plastic junk strewn all over due to its commercialization! Moreover, the water fall is only for 2-3 months in a year, from where are they going to bring water for the remaining part of the year, we are already having severe drought conditions in the summer months? Implementing such a big project without felling a single tree is a 'hollow promise' as logic would tell it!!

There was a similar grandiose proposal from somebody to make Belthangady area a famous tourist spot with all modern facilities like rope trolley ride etc. but it seems now the project has gathered dust!!

As someone as suggested, it is best to keep such scenic and pristine spots in its natural glory instead of tampering with it in the name of development!!

The above is a personal opinion!!

Few readers expressed their valid doubt about Water Falls which one can see only for 2-3 months..remaining days it is dry day..then what is the use of investing Rs 1,000 crores ?

Let me tell you, Authorities are going to implement it if they are able to recycle water falls..(just like aquarium )..It takes lot of time and man power and money..but if they succeed, then people can enjoy Water Falls for 365 days !! Jog Falls will be a super hit..No doubt..Hope and pray that Mr.B.R.Shetty's dream will come true..

Kerala is beautiful, but all of the Keralites are outside Kerala, so what is the use? There should be development & jobs created without polluting the environment.
Development is need of the hour, not appeasement.

I prefer to watch & feel nature in it raw form. artificial manipulation of falls is a strict no no for me. if at all this has to happen, let there be very minimal tree felling. remember nature lovers across the world prefer pristine forest, beaches, tribes etc..

Really amazing plan... All the best Shettre... hope your dream come true soon & Namma Karnataka will attract tourists across the world.

I remember, few months back Daijiworld published a plan of a NRI, who wants to set up Cable car concept around Belthangady area. Not sure, how far his plan reached... but, it is really good sign, native Entrepreneurs are keen in investing on this land, which not only generates jobs, but also put state to move in a faster phase.

All the best for the project. Hope Karnataka will attract more tourist by this. But I have the doubt whether the greenery & natural beauty around there will remain or not ? With the reason of development please don't harm the nature .
