Mogaveers’ Cultural Gala – An Event to Remember

Bahrain, Jul 1: It was a mind-blowing entertainment event hosted by the ‘Mogaveers Bahrain’ last night (29th June 2007) at the Papillon Auditorium, Gudaibiya. The Auditorium was totally packed as a large number of fun & music lovers showed up to witness the unique show, titled “Mogaveers’ Cultural Gala-2007”.



The event included semi classical dances, fun dances, cinematic dances, skits and live music. All the dances were wonderful, the skit – ‘Va-Porluya’ botha kola symbolizing the tradition of tuluvas was a super hit and all the melody numbers from the old and new bollywood films were simply splendid! The shining guest singers Mr. Amarnath Rai and Mr. B.K. Shetty gave many melodious oldies from super hit tulu films and enchanted whole of the tuluvas-majority audiences. Totally the live music from the ‘Rhythm Orchestra’ was tremendous. Shankar Jathanna -who supported the event by providing costumes and helped as a make-up- man has done a excellent job. Undoubtedly, the show was successful in everyway in feeding the audiences of all age category according to their taste. Undeniably, this event well showcased the talent of the Mogaveera artists. 



At first, Praveen Mendon gave a formal start with his mellowing prayer song. Then the Executive Committee Member, Nikhil Shriyan gave introduction of the guests. Thereafter the President Girish Iddya welcomed the guests. Soon after, the Ex-President, Leeladhar Baikampady presented the Key-Note Address and carried out the stage programme.

Gajria Electronics Managing Director Vijay Boloor was the Chief Guest and Mangalore Association, Dammam President Karunakar Salian was the Guest of Honour at the event. Ex-Vice President of the Association Nagesh Naik and Hon. General Secretary of the Association  Manohar Hejmadi were also present on the dais. The ‘Mangalore Assocation’ – Dammam Hon Gen. Secretary, Ravi Karkera and the Executive Committee Member Dayanand Shriyan have also witnessed the event.

 

President Iddya presented mementoes to the guests as a token of love & respect from all Mogaveers. The new Executive Committee headed by Girish Iddya was formally inducted in presence of the guests. At the end of the stage function, ‘Mogaveers Bahrain’ Hon.Gen. Secretary  Manohar Hejmadi thanked all the guests.

As part of honouring of the supporters and sponsors, Ashok Shetty (Creative Advertising), James D’silva, Shankar Jathanna and D Ramesh were felicitated with attractive mementoes. There was also felicitation of about 16 other supporters and artists including the chief choreographer  Lakshmish Kotekar. The others honoured were Amarnath Rai, B.K. Shetty,  Chandrakala Mohan (Mrs), Bhaskar Acharya, Sudhir Acharya, Sadanand Suvarna, Narayan, Shruthi Hejmadi, Shloka Hejmadi, Tanya Girish, Dimple Raj Shetty, Saahil Therthai Suvarna, S. Ranganath and Master Sampath Jathanna. They all were honoured with special mementoes for their support and contributions towards the complete success of the event.










Ent.  Sec. Chandra Shaker and Asst.  Ent. Sec. Sunil Kotian have put in a lot of effort to organize the verity entertainment

The total programme was anchored by Jagannath Kadekar and Surekha Theertha Suvarna.

    Interesting article nice and exciting. but I missed... congratulations for the members who conducted such a nice event. I wish this could happen in Saudi Arabia also.
