Ranchi, Sep 16: The Konkan Christian Association (KCA), Ranchi celebrated its 50th Annual Monti Fest, the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary in Ranchi, Jharkhand on 13th September 2015 at Vidya Sadan, Capuchin Friary, Shamlong. This was the Golden Jubilee Celebration from its formation in Ranchi. The Konkan Christians Association includes Konkani speaking Christians from Mangalore, South Canara, Karwar area, Bombay, and Goa.
Together with this the KCA also celebrated Golden Jubilee of Sr Bernard OSU and Fr C R Prabhu in the religious life as Sister and Priest respectively. They are the backbones of this organization. Sr Bernard for the last 50 years is taking care of this organization.
The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Dr Theodore Mascarenhas SFX, the Auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese of Ranchi. Fr Joseph Prasad Pinto, Fr C R Prabhu (Both former Rectors of St Albert’s Major Seminary, Ranchi), Fr Rohan, Fr John Crasta, Fr Roque Cardoza, Fr Gilbert D’Souza, Fr Edward Saldanha, Fr Edwin Coelho, Fr Raju Felix Crasta, Fr Ivan D’Souza, Fr Maxim Pinto, Fr Leo D’Souza, Fr James Quadros, Fr Vernon D’Souza, Fr Roshan and Fr Anand concelebrated at the Eucharist.
Bishop Theodore Mascarenhas in his homily stressed the right relationship with God. Building up spiritual relationship with the Father, Son and Spirit is essential for the showers of blessings. Harvest is God’s blessing. God bless us even in our troubled condition if we are faithful to Him.
Fr Joseph Prasad Pinto welcomed in the beginning of Mass and Sister Bernard thanked at the end.
Soon After the Mass, Fr Prabhu blessed the corn (Novem) was blessed by and distributed. Then the Jubilee Cake was cut a by two Jubilarians, Sr Bernard and Fr Prabhu. The Jubilee Song was sung by the Choir. Anasthacia and Clara sang a melodious song and Shalom and Alma performed an enchanting dance. Traditional Mando was sung thereafter.
At the end Fr Gilbert said the grace before meals. With a delicious food prepared by several religious houses, the programme was concluded. The whole programme was compered by Fr Raju Felix Crasta.
