Beltangady, Sep 17: Tene Habba (Monthi Fest) celebration with the inmates of Seon Ashram was a unique and a special programme organized by the Beltangady deanery ICYM on the occasion of Silver Jubilee Year of Beltangady varado ICYM. This was indeed a spirit filled programme, first time in the history of Seon Ashram. 250 youth from all the 11 parishes of the varado joined the celebration on Sunday September 13 at Seon Ashram under the leadership of Fr Simon D’Souza, the varado ICYM Director at 10.30 am.
As a preparation of this celebration, the varado ICYM had collected various things from the parishioners to hand over it to the Seon Ashram as donations on the previous Sunday. The parishioners responded very positively.
The youngesters were warmly welcomed by Seon Ashram Trustee Paulos. All the youth met the inmates and had a very cordial and friendly interaction.
The gracious presence of Dr Lawrence Mukuzhy, Bishop of Beltangady has added more colour to the celebration. Bishop blessed the new corns and conducted the Prayer service
The importance of Tene Habba and Marian Devotion (Monthi Fest) was explained by Fr Simon D’Souza in his inaugural address. "Through the celebration with the inmates of Seon Ashram, we are able to say to them that 'you are our family and we care for you'," he said.
The Bishop appreciated the wonderful efforts and initiation of Beltangady deanery ICYM members to have this celebraiton with the poorest of the poor and with those who are deprived of the love of the loved ones. This is for the first time in the history of Seon Ashram that this feast was celebrated by any of the associations.
New corn mixed with the milk was served to all followed by vegetable meals.
Mangaluru Diocese ICYM President Alwyn Dsouza, Secretary Jackson ,ICYM Beltangady Diocese President Vipin Thomas, Fr Tomy, Fr Thomas, deacon John were also present.
Varado ICYM President Arun D’Souza, Diocesan central council member Sujith Monis worked hard for the success of this great event.

Rohan Lewis from Madanthyar compered the programme. Several activities were conducted for all the youth.
