Panaji, Jul 31: After witnessing the undemocratic action by the speaker, the Goa Democratic Alliance, which is having majority legislators on its side, is now banking on the president of India for her intervention.

The GDA legislators on Tuesday left for Delhi, for the second time, in the last four days, to parade before the president of India Pratibha Patil.

``We were waiting for the Governor to act... But he seems to be delaying... There are violations of Governor's orders on the floor of the house and even after that he is not questioning the congress-led alliance,'' Shripad Naik, Goa BJP chief, told reporters this afternoon.

The BJP-led Front had to face undemocratic actions on the floor of the house on Monday when speaker disqualified three legislators -- all supporting GDA -- without even giving them chance to present their case. Even notices were not issued to these legislators.

``If such thing is allowed, no government in India will be defeated on the floor of the house. The speaker will alter the number using his powers and allow the chief minister take vote of confidence,'' BJP leader Manohar Parrikar, who is tipped to be the GDA's chief ministerial face, told reporters before leaving to Delhi.

The BJP has said that they have lost faith in the speaker who did ``mal-practise'' on the floor of the house and acted ``partisan''. ``He threw all rules to the wind to ensure that the chief ministers passes confidence vote,'' Parrikar said citing that the assembly proceedings were not conducted properly on Monday.

The GDA has brought all the flaws to the notice of the Governor on Monday evening, who had assured to act by Tuesday morning. ``We were waiting for the Governor to act by Tuesday morning but since there is no communication, we (GDA) are forced to approach President of India,'' Naik said.

The BJP, which had its government dismissed by the Governor in 2005 alleging violation of his orders, is not getting the same treatment this time. Though S C Jamir continues to be the Governor of the state, he is not giving the level playing field to the BJP, which is having majority in the house.

The GDA members left for Delhi this afternoon while Goa chief minister had left in the morning. The chief minister is expected to meet his party high command to ensure that the government does survive in this coastal state. It is to be seen whether Pratibha Patil, who was touted as Cogress President of India, will be able to salvage her pride by giving unbias judgement in the Goa case.
