The auto rickshaws participating in ‘The Indian Auto Rickshaw Challenge’ reached Mangalore city on Thursday. The rally has been organized to introduce Indian culture and enriched heritage to the entire world.
The rally was started on Sunday, August 4 from Chennai. Later the rally was passed through Vellore, Bangalore and Hassan before reaching Mangalore. The rally would go through Karvar, Panaji, Ratnagiri and conclude at Mumbai on August 17.
A total of 72 members of different countries are participating in 32 auto rickshaws in this rally. One-legged Joy Bulge of America and 72-year-old Mimi of Canada are the main attractions in this group.
Child abuse, road safety, proper education for children and tourism development are the major drives behind this rally.
Arvind B Kumar, originally from Tamil Nadu, settled in Hungary is the prime organizer of this rally.
“This is not a competition. Entertainment and help are the main objectives of this rally. Auto rickshaw is a vehicle of common people. Hence, our purpose to reach the commoners would be served easily,” says K Umamahesh, one of the organizer.
