Alwar teacher praised by PM Modi declines higher post

Nov 18 ( PTI/agencies): Imran Khan, the school teacher from Alwar district in Rajasthan who became famous after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised him in his speech to the Indian diaspora at Wembley in the UK on November 13, has declined to accept the post of project officer offered by the Rajasthan government.

After his contribution to education sector was mentioned in the global platform by the PM, the Rajasthan government in no time offered him the post of project officer in the Department of Science and Technology, reports Times Of India.

However, Imran Khan, who is content with his current job, feels that he may not be able to work as an educationist if he accepts the post of project officer.

Higher Education Minister Kalicharan Saraf felicitated him with a cheque of Rs 11,000 on Tuesday.

Imran Khan, a Sanskrit teacher at a government school in Alwar, was praised by PM Modi for developing 52 educational mobile apps for free in a period of three years.

Though Khan has never met the Prime Minister, he gave a presentation of his work before the HRD Minister Smriti Irani at a national seminar some time back
