Former Principal of Jain College N S Divakar Passes Away

Moodbidri, Sep 12: President of Sri Mahaveera College trust and the retired principal of the Jain Pre-university College, N S Divakar (65) passed away on Monday September 11.
Divakar was being treated for his sickness at Belgaum and was on his way back to his home town when he breathed his last at Harihara.
Divakar who held a masters degree in history and was a professor in Vivekananda College in Puttur for 7 years. In 1974 he took over as the principal of then newly-started Jain Pre-university College at Moodbidri and rendered his service there till his retirement in the year 2000. Other than being a good teacher whom students always liked, he was known for his administrative skills and discipline.
When Jain education trust started the Sri Dhavala College he was appointed first principal of the same. He was also the vice-president of Sri Mahaveera College Trust and the governing committee president of the same. He worked for the betterment of Moodbidri taluk in the field of education, religious and social development.
He is survived by wife, son and a daughter.
Manipal Academy register K K Pai, governing president Dr H Shantharam, MLA K Abhaychandra, former Minister K Amaranatha Shetty, APMC President Krishna Hegde and others have condoled his death.
