Kolkata, Feb 8 (IANS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday expressed deep concern over the central government's decision to withdraw concessions on customs duty on several key drugs.
"I am deeply concerned by the sudden increase in customs duties on life-saving drugs. Price rise needs to be addressed urgently.
"Medicines for cancer, diabetes, Parkison's, heart/kidney disorders, women's health can become too expensive for thousands who need them," said Banerjee, who is also the Trinamool Congress chairperson.
