Mangaluru, March 17: “Even though the world is getting digitized and digital technology changes the face of the world, man has to stress on the need to be humane”, said Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D' Souza.
He was speaking after inaugurating Epitome-2016 national level inter collegiate information technology competition held at Arthur Shenoy Auditorium, Bio Informatics department of St Aloysius College Information Technology school, Beeri Madoor on Thursday, March 17.

“The world is on the path of development with advancement in information technology and Nano technology. However humanity and relationships which are the essence of life are vanishing. Human values are necessary to spend a good life in society. To be an excellent individual, a person should possess good character, hunger for knowledge, display dignity, grow in values, have patience, ambition, good friends, thoughts of sacrifice, positive attitude and love towards the family,” he said.
Principal of St Aloysius College, Fr Swebert D' Silva speaking on the occasion said “St Aloysius college has secured second spot among excellent colleges on national level. The college is one among 146 star colleges in the world. It has been made possible by students who have reached high positions after studying in the college besides staff. Success was possible as the College teaches human values besides education in the college."
St Aloysius Mangaluru rector Fr Denzil Lobo presided over the programme. Management official Pradeep Sequeira, Mithun D' Souza, student organizers Sandesh Shetty and Vineeth Lasrado were present.
Information technology department dean professor Santhosh Rebello welcomed. Enola compered the programme. Roshan Suares proposed vote of thanks.
