“The world is on the path of development with advancement in information technology and Nano technology. However humanity and relationships which are the essence of life are vanishing. Human values are necessary to spend a good life in society. To be an excellent individual, a person should possess good character, hunger for knowledge, display dignity, grow in values, have patience, ambition, good friends, thoughts of sacrifice, positive attitude and love towards the family,” he said.

Principal of St Aloysius College, Fr Swebert D' Silva speaking on the occasion said “St Aloysius college has secured second spot among excellent colleges on national level. The college is one among 146 star colleges in the world. It has been made possible by students who have reached high positions after studying in the college besides staff. Success was possible as the College teaches human values besides education in the college."

St Aloysius Mangaluru rector Fr Denzil Lobo presided over the programme. Management official Pradeep Sequeira, Mithun D' Souza, student organizers Sandesh Shetty and Vineeth Lasrado were present.

Information technology department dean professor Santhosh Rebello welcomed. Enola compered the programme. Roshan Suares proposed vote of thanks.

It was a joy to witness His Lordship Bishop Aloysius paying a visit to Beeri College. Bishop Aloysius is one of the best promoter of Education in Mangalore. The St. Joseph's Engineering College at Vamanjoor as well as the Medical College at Fr. Muller's are the classic living examples where hundreds of Engineers and Doctors are blossoming each year.

The change of time is certainly bringing to life new technologies including the robotics, but we have to remain positive that the progress of life and the progress of the world will always keep people occupied with their dignity of labor.

One of the most important element of thought that we need to inculcate in the minds of the people in India is the importance of conserving our growing population. A Mahatma Gandhi himself preached and practiced, self control must be exercised at all costs and efforts and under all circumstances. The scarcity of clean food, clean water and clean air are some of the most important criteria we need to take into consideration while the technological innovations must continue to offset other disparities in life.

The Educational values in India are gaining increased momentum hence with better Education people should learn how to help one another by creating new opportunities for growth and prosperity. Robotic innovation will bring better quality of products, hence let new products emerge and let human progress continue to flourish with greater opportunities for new jobs. Let people learn how to help others that are less privileged than us, and most importantly, let greed and corruption diminish slowly so that humanity will have a greater value of cooperation, coordination and also communication.

Hard work, honest work and consistent work should be the hallmark of basic life in India where humanity and kindness should prevail at all costs in addition to peace and communal harmony.

Agriculture is one single focus that should encourage our farmers to grow more. "Dhanyawadh".

Once calling through phone inside the U.S. more than forty years back was very expensive. Calling India was too outrageous like more than $ 3.00/minute. Now, by spending 5 minutes charge of the olden time can call India and in dozens of other countries for 24 hours.

But the calling volume has greatly reduced thus personal contacts with the relatives and friends are not getting stronger but far less thus we are all creating our own chamber of seclusion.

Many are under a false notion that science is the ultimate solution, on the other hand it is now creating far serious problems in the society, and the whole world is moving towards a spiritual bankruptcy created by the scientific revolution in which the humanity is totally trapped. The robot invention will be taking off millions of people from the assembly lines, the computer technology will be removing yet millions of people from their jobs in the days to come.

Is there any validity to this Statement as JESUS told the devil face to face after He was finished with his 40 days of fasting at the wilderness. " Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of GOD". Mathew 4:4.

Now humanity's march is fully focused on the most colorful and expensive bread-brand name clothing-rise rise buildings-fancy cars etc we lost our humanity too terribly now but totally wrapped up in the pleasures of the world.
