Bengaluru, Mar 20: The administrations of both Mysuru and Mandya districts have banned Sri Ram Sene head, Pramod Muthalik, from entering their districts for a week.
Both the administrations said that as per their assessment, peace and order in the districts will be adversely affected if Muthalik visits the districts. The ban will be in force from March 19 to 25, and Muthalik, who was on his way to Mysuru, was stopped on Saturday from Nidaghatta check post at the border of Mandya district and turned back.
Muthalik was travelling to Mysuru from Bengaluru for pledging solidarity with the family of Raju, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist, who was recently murdered in a tea shop, and to console the bereaved family members. Muthalik sought permission of the officials to at least visit Mandya, but this request was turned down. He said he is determined to seek court interference in the matter.
On his way back to Bengaluru, Muthalik addressed a press conference held at a private hotel near Channapatna. He said that the state government, by restraining him from entering the above two districts, has taken away his individual freedom. He stated that he would be approaching the court against the said move.
