Mangaluru, Mar 20: White Doves NGO on Sunday March 20 presented an enchanting and meaningful Kannada play titled 'Aa Dinagalu' (Those were the Days) depicting the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, in front of a huge crowd of over a thousand at Padua grounds here.

Apart from marking the season of Lent, 'Aa Dinagalu', beautifully directed by White Doves founder president Corrine Rasquinha and written by Bannu Fernandes, was a fundraiser for White Doves' project of building a 200-bed Psychiatric Nursing Home for the Destitutes at Maroli.

The play, which narrated in song and act the life and victory of Jesus Christ, captivated the audience. Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza lauded White Doves and said, "As we are in the beginning of the holy week, Corrine has staged this act to depict those painful and difficult days of Jesus Christ. I thank her for staging this act. Jesus Christ knew in advance that about his crucifixion but in order to give salvation to mankind, he sacrificed himself. Each one of us should realize the purpose of his sacrifice. White Doves is serving the poor and downtrodden in the society. May the Lord shower His blessings on White Doves. I wish the the best in its noble work of helping the needy."

Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes, said, "We are in the season of Lent. The very purpose of Lent is to repent sin and consecrate oneself to God. Such an act which dipicts the painful days of Christ is meaningful. A white dove is a symbol of peace. White Doves has been serving the poor and needy in society, and I wish the service continues for many more years. May God give more strength to White Doves to do more good works. I congratulate and wish the NGO all success in its future endeavours."

Well done. It is a blessing.

Jesus said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled (Luke 24:44)

This is my (Jesus) commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (John 15:12-13).
