Mangalore, Oct 1: Ullal Central Jumma Masjid and Ullal Dargah president Janab Al-Haj U K Ibrahim passed away here on the evening of Monday October 1.

85-year-old Ibrahim was suffering from brain clotting, blood pressure and diabetic problems. He was admitted to Omega hospital in the city on September 29 morning. Since his condition deteriorated, he was put on artificial respiration.

Ibrahim had been president of the Ullal Dargah committee for the past 45 years. He was also heading the Ullal Syed Madani institutions and Tippu Sultan institutions. Besides, he had  opened many Masjids and Madrasas around Ullal. He was well respected by the Muslim community not only in Dakshina Kannada but also in Kerala. Moreover, he even had good relations with the people of other religions.

He is survived by his wife, 5 daughters and 5 sons.

    Innaha lillaha...It was a dark day for all the muslims in ullal region. We lost a legand leader,we experienced good era under his guidance, especially in the field of muslim communities education. I really appreciate his work and support of Dargha committee as well.. Finally i thankfull to Daijiworld ..good job

    i really appriciate the entire coverage...and im sad to my grand pa wh is no more naw....i stay in dubai...atleast i could see the last face of my grand pa... in ur pics..great human being..im reallly thankfull to u ppl...wh have made me 2 watch my grandpa for last time...great work...keep it up...thank u once again daiji world....
