Mangalore: ‘White Doves’ Serves Free Food to 2,500 Needy Persons

Mangalore, Oct 7: ‘White Doves’ is an organization which has been serving the downtrodden for years, and this time too as part of that service to the society they Served food to about 2500 needy and deserving people on Sunday, October 7.

The youths of the city have been used as volunteers to distribute this food, which was served along the coastal belt right from Kanhangad to Brahmavar.

Western Range IGP A M Prasad flagged off the function by waving off white flags into the vehicles which carried food packets to various parts of the city. Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza was the chief guest on the occasion. In his message, he expressed concern over the increasing number of hungry mouths.

More than a hundred youths distributed food packets in 27 different places in 40 vehicles. Speaking to ‘www.daijiworld.com,’ Corrine Rasquinha, the head of ‘White Doves', informed that organization has been working for the downtrodden people over the past several years.

This time the services of the youths have been utilized as volunteers for this work, in order to motivate them towards social service.

Alvin D’Souza, secretary of ‘White Doves,’ was present on this occasion.
