Mangaluru, Apr 6: A two-day national level inter collegiate fest, for the students management ZEPHYR 2K16 was organized by the department of business administration of St Joseph Engineering college (SJEC), was inaugurated in the college premises on Wednesday, April 6.
Gilbert D’Souza, president of Rachana Catholic chamber of commerce and industry inaugurated the fest.
In his inaugural address Gilbert said "Once you finish your studies, you must have the desire towards the success. Thereafter you have to take a right decision to travel in that path. Once you take the decision, you must have the determination to reach your goal. If you have all these three things, you will definitely come up in life,"
"As students you have a sea of opportunities in front of you. Choose the right opportunity and give your best. Never underestimate yourself and take calculated risks in life. Utilize your hidden talents to achieve success." Gilbert added.
Speaking on the occasion, the principal of the college Dr Joseph Gonsalves said, "You are the people in the making. This is the platform to showcase the talents. Only when you accept the challenges in such competitions you will learn to face the challenges of life. We have a great achiever here Gilbert D'souza. Emulate him in your life. I wish best of luck to all the participants."
The programme was presided over by the director of St Joseph's engineering college Fr Joseph Lobo. In his presidential address he said "You will achieve only when you consider an opportunity as a blessing in life. It you want to achieve success, you need to carry the positive attitude. Learn from your mistakes. Due to the fear of failure we do not take risks and hence we do not achieve success. If you do not know how to manage your life, then just be humble in whatever you do and be a good human being. If you do not have these qualities even an MBA degree wont help you in life."
Student co-ordinator of the fest Renita Menezes welcomed the gathering while Gautham Mascarenhas thanked the present. Dean of MBA Dr Prakash Pinto, faculty conveners Rakshith Bhandary and Vineesh P were present.
