Udupi, Oct 11: U R Sabhapathy, former Congress MLA who was to stage a hunger strike protesting against ‘police inaction’ in the attack on the house of CMC councillor Amrutha Krishnamurthy, near the SP’s office here on Monday October 8 has postponed the strike keeping in view the political developments in the state.
Amrutha Krishnamurthy’s house was allegedly attacked by the BJP supporters on October 2. No one has been arrested in the said case so far. Hence Sabhapathy planned a hunger strike so that the police will be contrained to take action against the culprits.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday October 9, Sabhapathy informed that next week a team of Congress leaders will meet the governor Rameshwar Thakur to seek justice for the Congress party workers in Kinimulky.
