Mangalore, Oct 12: A one-day seminar was organized by Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Kandaya Bhavan here on Thursday October 11.
Speaking on the occasion CPI (M) state secretary, G N Nagaraj said that those who follow the ideologies of Basaveshwara cannot be in Bharatiya Janata Party. Without naming any specific person, he clarified that Basavanna followers reject Vedas, Agamas, shrines and other such ideologies which are believed and revered by BJP, he stated. Therefore, he opined, they cannot remain in BJP. Continuing in BJP by following ideologies of Basavanna is a dishonour to the sharanas and lingayats, he declared firmly.
“People should not have contempt for any social reformer in this way”, Nagaraj averred and added that the swamijis of the Sharana Math should not support those who disrespect social reformers.
The present state political scenario is such that the State is being sacrificed for money and power, he lamented.
“We can consider the move of having an alliance, only if all office bearers of JD (S) and MLA agree with the ideologies of CPI (M)”, he declared firmly.
