Water emptied from tankers to prevent dust during Siddu's drought tour

Bagalkote, Apr 19 (PTI) : A controversy has erupted over two water tankers being emptied to prevent dust from rising from a road ahead of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's programme at Bilagi in the district during his ongoing visit of drought-hit areas.

The two tankers containing about 5000 litres of water were emptied before Siddaramaiah was to garland the statue of saint Kanakadasa (1509–1609 AD) as the road where it is located was dusty.

Siddaramaiah was scheduled to visit Badagandi village in Bilagi taluk as part of his current state wide tour of the areas reeling under drought.

"I will ask the Deputy Commissioner to look into it," said Siddaramaiah when asked by reporters about the incident yesterday.

Local legislator J T Patil, however, maintained that there was no drinking water scarcity in Bilagi.

The incident drew criticism from state BJP President and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.

He said when the state is facing drought situation and water shortage, "for the Chief Minister himself to do this for his own purposes...people will mock at it."

Catch those who used water for that purpose and punish them. Our CM, I am sure, will not ask anyone to do that for his sake.
This may be some one from opposition arranged mischief to counter BJP misdeeds earlier.

Our CM is a learned\caring person.

Apart from about ten thousands litres of water were used for a make shift helipad for the arrival of Maharashtra State Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse in the worst drought hit district of Latur now, a Union minister lands in water row with helicopter trip. Over 10,000 litres of water was used to create a temporary helipad for Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh's visit to drought-hit Bhiwandi in Thane District of BJP ruled state of Maharashtra on Monday. So someone spraying about 5,000 lits of water to prevent dust during Karnataka CMs visit is not the only culprit.

Yesterday I read in news paper bench in front of Taj Mahal made wet with Ice water before Prince William and Kate visited there, for them to sit as if they are sitting there for ever. Today it is for Siddu to breath freely water therapy. Next any of our elected Kudchala (Drunkard) politician goes to visit Orissa at this hot season what arrangement will be made ? Some wise thinking people already got answer for this I feel. Self made Bhagyas for lucky useless people at the expense of tax payers money

The water was used so that the helicopter engine does not suck in the dust and sand. The water was not sprinkled to cool the Revenue Minister's body nor cool the helicopter's tyres. These sarcastic comments are uncalled and unnecessary.

VALUE OF TWO TANKER WATER IN DROUGHT HIT PLACE IS REALLY WORTH FOR COMMON MAN BUT FOR CM IT IS JUST TWO TANKER.
QUESTION OF BAD WATER WILL NEVER ARISE IN DRAUGHT HIT PLACE BECAUSE BY THAT TIME ANY TYPE WATER IS WORTH FOR DIFFERENT PURPOSE LIKE ANIMALS, WASHING AND SO ON.

Dear Mr.Dev Kumar, Ranganpalke/Kawdoor District - I am not a supporter of wasting water by whoever it is but before commenting first of all get concrete proof on what type of water was used in both the cases and then only write your comments. How sure you are which was polluted water and which was good water??? Otherwise there is no value or justification for your views.

    dEAR dEV "sagara"
EVEN IF THE WATER IS NOT FIT TO DRINK IT MAY BE USE FOR DOMESTIC PURPOSE OTHER THAN DRINKING AND COOKING.
2 TANKER IS NOT EQUAL TO "sagara" BUT EVEN 1 BUCKET OF WATER IS IMPORTANT.
