London, Oct 16: A farmer based in Gloucester is helping his hens to lay more eggs by playing them classical music.
Charles Bourns, the National Farmers Union's poultry board chairman said that he saw huge rise in production after the musical therapy.
Bourns plays them classical music 24 hours a day and he also believes that it also helps in increasing the birds' growth rate.
"I have tried pop music, but it is too changeable, with lots of talking - the birds prefer Classic FM, much to my children's disgust," Ananova quoted him, as telling Farmer's Weekly magazine.
