Mangaluru, May 15: In connection with the murder of Rohit Kotian from Kadri Kambala in the city near a building in the neighbourhood of KSRTC bus stand at Bejai here, Barke and Kadri station police have arrested four persons. Three among them are siblings.
Yashant (40), Jagadish (36), and Shivaji (35), who are brothers and stay at George Martis Road, Kadri here, as well as Gautham Chandra (30) from Bikarnakatte Kandettu stand arrested for the above crime. It is gathered that Jagadish faces five earlier criminal cases, three in Kadri station and one each at Puttur and Uppinangady police stations.
Yashwant was taken into custody on Friday May 13 evening frorm Balmatta, whereas the other three were arrested from near Kadri graveyard.
Rohit and his friend, Roshan, who lives near Edeen Garden, Nanthur here, were attacked on Sunday evening, May 7. Rohit had died in the incident,while Roshan had survived with grave injuries. The police have gathered information that Rohit and Roshan used to meet often at the graveyard in Kadri here.
Rohit and some others had attacked Shivaji some days back. Shivaji had told his brother, Jagadish, about this attack. In retaliation, the accused reportedly hit Rohit and Roshan when they were near KSRTC bus stand with wooden sticks and stones in addition to stabbing them in the abdomen region.
The accused have now been remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
