Udupi, May 16: "A strong bridge of brotherhood can be built between Hindus and Muslims if Muslims are willing to raise the slogan, 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', hailing their motherland," felt national convener of Bajrang Dal, Rajesh Pandey.
He was delivering keynote address at the huge gathering at Moodubelle near here on Sunday May 15 evening on the occasion of mega Hindu Samajotsava organized there by Moodubelle unit of Bajrang Dal in association with Vishwa Hindu Parishad. "We always work in support of victory of righteousness over the evil. Why should people from other religions feel hurt at this? We always seek welfare of everyone. Hinduism is the way of life which taught truth, sophisticated culture, refinement and dependence on agriculture for a living. We do not allow terrorism to take root in our religion. Our young people should come forward and take up cudgels to conserve our religion when those attacking our religion declare Lord Rama and the bridge he built as figments of imagination and do such other things," he stated.
He questioned the sincerity of people who are trying to brand Hinduism as intolerant based on just one incident at Dadri, duly pointing out that the same people are silent over injustice heaped on Sikhs, Kashmiri Pandits and those who suffered on account of violent incidents at Mumbai Azad Maidan.
The Samajotsava was inaugurated by Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math, Gurpur. In his benedictory address, the Swamiji said that Hinduism rests in the heart and soul of our country. "Islamic terrorism was behind the Malegaon blasts of 2008, not Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. The then head of Anti Terrorist Squad, Hemant Karkare, arrested the Sadhvi. Later, real terrorists eliminated Karkare. Our state cannot prosper under a chief minister who does not have faith in Hinduism. Our children are losing their refinement because of convent education. We should formulate an education that is rich with our own system of cultural refinement," he advocated.
District president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Baiady Suprasad Shetty, in his address, welcomed the declaration of National Investigation Agency that Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was wrongly framed in the blast case. Terming this as a symbol of Hindu victory, he said that Vishwa Hindu Parishad will be forming committees in all 243 villages in the district during the coming months. He warned that Hindus will initiate Ghar Wapsi movement if religious conversion takes place at Moodubelle henceforth.
Social worker, Suresh Shetty Gurme, was the chief guest. Subhaschandra Hegde, an entrepreneur from Pune, presided. Businessmen, Mukund Kamath, Prashant Shetty, Prasad Shetty Achebettu, Taranath Kotian, Sunil K R, Dinesh Mendon, and Santosh, were present.
Before the function, a grand procession was taken out from Geeta Mandir Moodubelle to the venue of the Samajotsava, Sanjeev Hegde Estate. Suresh Shetty Gurme from Kaup inaugurated the procession. For the occasion, the entire region was filled with saffron flags. Hundreds of people holding Bhagawa flag took part in the procession. Chende troupes from Kerala including an all-women team, Nasik band, and tableaux added to the grandeur of the procession.
