Girls with 64.78 % pass outperform boys with 50.02 %

Bengaluru, May 25: Result of the second pre university class examination held during March-April this year has been published.
State primary and secondary education minister, Kimmane Ratnakar, has provided the salient features of the result at a press conference held at the office of the PU education department on Wednesday May 25.
Dakshina Kananda has stood first while Udupi has stood second. Kodagu and Uttara Kannanda stood third and fourth respectively. Yadgiri is the last with 44.16 % pass, revealed the minister. The district also saw the highest number of malpractices at 22.
Pass percentage in state is 57.02%
Pass percentage of Dakshina Kannada is 90.48% while that of Udupi is 90.35%. 79.35% is the pass percentage of Kodagu.
Rakshitha, a student of of BVS colege Bengaluru has secured first with 596 marks in Arts.Neha from Jnana Sudha college Karkala has attained second rank with 595 marks.
As usual the girls with 64.78 % pass have outperformed the boys with 50.02 %.
91 colleges have got zero percent passes.
Top 10
Though Dakshina Kannada district has stood first in the state in PUC results this year, none of the students are among the ten highest mark getters.
Among the ten highest mark getters are Bangaluru's Rakshitha with 596 marks, Udupi's Neha D Shetty 595, Ramya M 594, Udupi's Prajna 594,Udupi's Pooja Nayak 593, Hassan's Aishwarya V Jayaram 593, Udupi's Akshay 593, Chickkamagaluru's Supreeth 593, Tumkur's Karthik 593,Bangaluru's Abhinandini 592.

Bengaluru, May 25: Result of the second pre university class examination held during March-April this year will be published today.
State primary and secondary education minister, Kimmane Ratnakar, will be providing salient features of the result at a press conference being held at the office of the PU education department at 10.30 am on Wednesday May 25. The student will be able to view their results through only government websites from 11 am onward on

Unlike previous years, result will not be avaiable on private websites.
The intervening period between holding of PU examination and publication of result has been a roller coaster ride for the PU students because of leak of chemistry question paper twice, and the threat of boycotting answer sheets evaluation posed by lectures. A total of 6.4 la students had appeared for the examination. There was also a controversy over the issue of giving grace marks during this period.
