Beltangady, Jun 18: On the evening of Friday June 17, two gangs fought a pitched battle with each other at Nadtikallu at Moodukody which falls in the jurisdiction of Venoor police station. About this incident, both complaint and counter complaints stand filed.
It is gathered that Shylesh Shetty, Naveen and Dharmaraj, who were moving towards Venoor from Naravi in motor bikes, had stopped their bikes at Moodukody Nadtikallu and were speaking with friends. As per the complaint, Shamshuddin, Issar, Asif,Nawaz and Hyder, who arrived at the spot, abused the group members by using derogatory comments about their caste. The complaint also states that Rs 20,000 in cash, and a two sovereign golden neck chain were snatched away by the attackers from the possession of Naveen.
On the other hand, Abdul and his group have filed counter complaint against Shylesh Shetty, Naveen, and Dharmaraj. They have complained that this three-member gang had attacked them. Members of both the groups have got admitted into the government hospital here.
Venoor police, who have registered the cases, have begun investigation.
