Mysuru: Heavy rain claims life of headmaster

Mysuru, Jun 18: The district received heavy rainfall on Friday June 17. Because of heavy rain, the lake near Rampura in Nanjangud taluk in the district breached and heavy outflow of water washed away a headmaster who was passing by in his scooter at that time.

Lingannachar (55), headmaster of Mallahalli government higher primary school and a resident of Sharadadevi Nagar in the city, died in this tragic incident. He ws returning to his home in his scooter after rain subsided in the low level road near Rampura when he lost his balance and fell down. At that time, water started to gush out of Ahalya lake into the road. The headmaster was washed away along with his scooter due to the force of water.
