Puttur, Jun 19: A person who has got himself admitted into the community hospital at Kadaba for treatment of injuries has alleged that he sustained when he was attacked by owner of Sri Dattakrupa Finance Corporation, Kadaba and his employees. A case about this incident was lodged in Kadaba police station.
Reportedly, Purushottam, who owns Padmashree Studio in Kadaba,had borrowed Rs 30,000 from the above firm six months back. He was repaying interest at the rate of Rs 1,200 every week, but no receipts were issued for these payments as per his claim.
He says that on Saturday, he paid money as usual and demanded receipt for the same. Angered by this demand, he says, owner of the finance firm, Sridhar K Shetty, and his employees, beat him up.
During this incident, a large number of locals gathered near the finance office. The citizens also gave vent to their ire against the firm in the presence of Kadaba police who visited the spot. They accused the finance firm of robbing the people by charging Rs 40 per week as interest for every Rs 1,000 borrowed from them.
Kadaba station house officer, Umesh Uppalike, summoned people from both the sides to the police station, held discussions and then registered a case.
