Udupi, Jun 19: A dead body of a person was found in a pool of blood at Jayadurga Rangamantapa opposite Kannarpady temple in Kinnimulki near here on Sunday, June 19.
Niranjan Shetty (42) from Kannarpady is the person deceased. He is survived by mother and a brother.
As per the details available, Niranjan Shetty was an alcoholic and worked as a cleaner at Jayadurga Hotel in Kinnimulki. He used to sleep at the Rangamantapa every night.
From outward signs, it looks like Niranjan died because of injury to his forehead. Locals said that Niranjan was well behaved person but had been an addict of alcohol.
When Niranjan came to the Rangamantapa to sleep, there was a group of local youth present there. The dead body of Niranjan was spotted at 6 am in the morning on Sunday by some youngsters, locals said. There is also a possibility of falling down and losing life.
Malpe police have registered a case, Investigation is progressing under the leadership of inspector Srikanth.
