The accused has been identified as Chandrakanth Beese (22), resident of Goa. He is one of the three accused in robbery case which took place in a jewellery shop near main Kota market. The owner of the shop was assaulted in the incident on May 21.
Another accused, Prathamesh is in the custody of Goa police. The accused is absconding and said to be in Sikkim. A search is on to nab him.
Earlier, three youth, who came to Durga Jewellers in the guise of customers on May 21, entered the shop, closed the shutters, inflicted deadly assault on owner Ravindra Acharya with weapons and robbed the jewellery shop.
When Ravindra Acharya screamed, his neighbour opened the door and came to rescue him.
The robbers became alert and two of them fled in the bike brought by them. One of them ran in the nearby market. Seriously injured Ravindra was admitted in a private hospital for treatment.
The Goa registered yellow coloured bike left by the robbers while escaping gave the police some clues. The same day the robbers had entered five jewellery shops in the afternoon.

Several criminal cases are registered against them in Goa and elsewhere. They used to escape from police without using mobile while travelling to other places. Goa police were on the lookout for suspects of murdering an elderly woman for money. The three had escaped after allegedly killing their PG owner for cash.
