Kundapur, Jun 25: “I have not gone after positions. I will be working for the development of the constituency and strengthening the party in the future too”, said Byndoor MLA Gopala Poojary on Saturday, June 25.
Answering questions raised by reporters after district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj visited him at his residence on June 24, he said that the minister had come on a courtesy visit. “He has asked for cooperation in matters concerning development in the district. I promised complete help,” he said.

"We the MLAs in the district will be extending our full cooperation to minister Pramod Madhwaraj. I want development works to be done and a strong party in the district. I was a sincere party worker since the beginning and will remain so. I will be continuing to work under the guidance of Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes, as before,” he added.
Asked if he will be assigned a post in a corporation or board, he said “I will not ask for any position. But if given a chance, I have the capacity to shoulder any responsibility,”
Speaking about the appointment of Kollur temple management, he said that the process will start from next week. “Applications will be invited as per the directions from the government under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner,” he said.
Poojary also revealed that the meeting scheduled to take place at Hemmady on June 26 by his supporters, opposing non assignment of ministerial position to him during of the recent ministry reshuffle, stands cancelled.
“As per the high command directions, the meeting has been called off. All my supporters will be working with me as loyal party workers.” he said.
