Mangaluru, Jun 27: Out of the four suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists who are under judicial custody in Maharashtra with regard to the Mukkachery explosive accumulation case of 2008, two were produced in the third JMFC court in city on Monday, June 27.
One of them is Naushad (33) while the second person’s name is yet to be ascertained. The Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) officials brought the suspects to the court by train to the city and later they were escorted by the local police on the way to the court.
The court, after hearing the argument from additional pleader Narayana Sherigar, has scheduled the next hearing of the case to 21, 22 and 23 of July.
As per the sources, the ATS team along with the suspects returned to Maharashtra by afternoon train.
Four persons namely Mohammed Ali from Mukkachery Ullal, a real estate agent, Javed Ali, a student of Ullal Quranic College, Naushad (25) from Subhash Nagar Pandeshwar in city, a construction worker and Ahmed Bava (33) from Haleyangadi were nabbed by the police and security forces on October 3, 2008. The police had seized five grenades and improvised pipe bombs along with 12 mobile handsets, SIM cards and jihadist material at Subhash Nagar in Pandeshwar in city.
