Bengaluru: Applying for BPL card to be made easy with only 4 documents

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Jun 30: Obtaining a BPL card will be easy after this.  The department of food and civil supplies has simplified the procedure. Only four documents are sufficient now instead of fourteen documents required earlier.

The department has decided to dispose off, within the next three months, nearly 10 lacs BPL cards kept pending for the last seven months and issue the cards to eligible applicants.  Applications will be received for new BPL cards once the process gets over.

Minister of food and civil supplies, U T Khader said that the applications will be considered on the basis of new requirements after obtaining cabinet approval.  Speaking to reporters after holding a meeting with department officials at Vikasa Saudha on Wednesday, June 29, he said that while submitting applications at present, fourteen documents including R R No. of electricity connection, Voter’s ID, Gas connection document, house number etc. are asked.  “Only Adhaar card will be sufficient after the approval.  The need for documents will be reduced to four.  The type of documents will be decided in the cabinet meeting,” he said.

Few of the locals suspected it to be a dope and drive case as many people including youth come to the beach under the influence of drugs and it is alleged to be a drug peddlers' dealing spot.

BPL cards is the biggest scam of Congress Govts. They convert APL to BPL to get the vote bank and make the people more lazy by distributing free rice etc. Instead they have to make BPL to be very specific to very poor people.
