Mangaluru, Jul 1: 3rd JMFC court in city on Thursday June 30 extended the police custody of Naresh Shenoy by another two days. He was earlier in police custody from June 27.
The extension was granted after the police sought his custody with an intention to interrogate him more relating to the murder of Vinayak Baliga in which Shenoy is the prime accused.
An application requesting the court to grant permission to subject Shenoy to narco analysis and brain mapping had been moved earlier by chief investigation officer ACP Tilak Chandra, on which no decision was made by the court on Thursday.
Shenoy was first produced in court on June 27
An application was made by lawyers of Shenoy on Thursday in which they stated that Shenoy suffered from kidney ailments and hence needed to be admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The court rejected the application after Asha Nayak the advocate for Vinayak Baliga’s father raised objection saying Naresh Shenoy was subjected to thorough medical tests before he was taken into police custody and hence the need of treatment did not arise.
