- Theme of the day: Story of Jesus in the religions of Karnataka
Bangalore, Nov 14: Day began with morning prayer followed by Eucharistic Celebration by Bishop. Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore.
’What is Jesus & Christianity to me?’ – A panel presentation was by Dharmaguru Sri Veerabhadra Chennamalla (Nidumaamidi) Swamiji, who admitted that Jesus Christ is a moderator for his life who is a “Mahaan Mahaan Vyakthi” (Very Great person). The participants were astonished over Swamiji’s quotes from the Bible with explanations. He shared with the audience that there is none in this world without sin and no man has come into this world to give his life for the sake of the whole world except Jesus Christ.
Dr Taha Mateen in his talk stated that many are not walking in the path of Jesus. They just wear the cross as an outward sign, but non- willing to carry it. He stressed that one should promise right now, at this moment to walk in the path Jesus Christ has shown and be an example to people around.
Dr Vimala Sumati Kumar and Dhammachari Chandrashekar Bodh shared their life experiences, the moderator being Fr Francis Guntipilly.
Swami Prabhudhar of Belgaum, Swami Dayanand of Bellary, Sr Evelyn of Bijapur and Br Paul D’Sa from Chikmagalur were excited to share their faith life which has brought them this far. Clara Fernandes from Belgaum, moderator for the session shared her experiences of succeeding in telling about Jesus to the society.
Interesting item of the day was ‘Pravachana’ by Fr Santhosh Dias, Gulbarga giving the message of Christ with music involving the local people which kept the participants enthralled after a long day. Moderator for the day’s session, Fr Terence Farias S J of Bangalore cleared his point that the people of Christ should be respectful towards the followers of other religions being a role model in day-to-day life.
Fr Jerome D’Souza S J of Bangalore briefed on reflective Theological Synthesis. Fr S Jayanathan, secretary (KRCBC) and team presented a draft of the resolution.
Programme concluded with mission Rosary and Cultural items by Shimoga, Bellary and Belgaum dioceses, entertaining one and all.
