Bengaluru, Jul 5: In a directive issued on Tuesday July 5, the state government has announced that the public holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr will be postponed from Wednesday July 6 to Thursday July 7.
Eid-ul-Fitr, the festival of the Muslim community following month-long fasting during Ramadan, will be celebrated in the coastal region and some other parts on Wednesday.
However, as Bengaluru, Delhi and the rest of India would be celebrating Eid on Thursday, the central government has issued directive to postpone the official holiday from July 6 to July 7.
Government officials and employees in coastal region have been given the permission to take holiday on Wednesday to celebrate Eid.
