Noble Ramadan deed: Muslim woman donates food, sarees in Hindu temple

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Jul 6: Donations are mandatory for Muslims during Ramadan. Muslims donate to their family members or to poor people in their community. However, Maimuna Rehmathulla, a Muslim woman in Katpady has made news on Monday, July 4 by donating food and sarees to Hindu community members in Katpadi Vishwanatha Kshetra.

Maimuna had donated food five times in the temple in the past.

Maimuna also participated in religious programme in the temple prior to donations.

Maimuna said that she was once looking for a customer to sell her house but did not find any and experienced financial constraints for many years. “Finally a devotee told that if you make a vow that you will donate food in the temple, your wish will be granted. I made a vow and the house got sold. I am fulfilling the vow,” she said.

Nearly 400 devotees participated in the programme including temple priest Devadasa Shanti, president Ashok Suvarna, secretary Harishchandra Ameen, vice president Rathnakar Anchan, Raghu Kotian, Naveen Ameen Shankerapura and others.

Temple secretary Vishwanath said that Maimuna with the faith in the temple has distributed food several times. “It was more special this time as she also distributed sarees.” he said.

There is no religion without humanity. This lady has shown us the true path to God. Whichever religion one belongs to, we must never forget that God is only one. God does not belong to any particular religion. We people should learn a lesson from such noble acts and whenever any politician tries to lecture us in the name of religion and attempts to divide the people, he should be heckled and shown the door. India is one and our religion is humanity and we should not allow the politicians to divide us.

Act of Shirk in the holy month.

Donating poor and needy is indeed a very pious act, but a devotee saying to donate food to so and so to ghaiurullah that your pending task will be complete & following thus is an act of Bidah & shirk.

    Hidayah is missing.

how much ever the politician try to divide still common people will be help each other after all two wrongs cannot make one right but two rights = always right. so always appreciate a person based on his/her goodwork and not on religion. every religion has right and wrong people. this simple thinking will make the world a far better place to live.

Some donations are for worldly benefits where some are for to get the best reward in here n hereafter. Islam requires the second one may the beneficiaries are from any other religion but without any touch of idol worship.

Sadly post the 90's our unscrupulous scumbag politicians in their greed for power destroyed it all!
Hope and pray that others will follow the great good deed done by Ms Maimuna Rehmathulla so that our country can regain its past glory!

This is what India is. It is a place where people from different caste, creed, religions have lived peacefully for years. It is the ghasty politicians who try to divide people for their personal benefits. I once again request and plead the media to give importance and preference to broadcast the news of harmony and brotherhood than unpleasant and disharmony which lead to differentiation n and unrest in the society. None of us are living for thousands of years. We do not know what is in store for us the next hour. Let us be human first and have lot of humility for the people around us. Please remember one thing it is the people around us who are going to come to our rescue when we are in need. In the event of requirement for blood, are we going to ask for blood from a particular community, caste, creed or religion. Let us build the society. Let us build the nation through love and affection. Unity is strength. Respect and love each other. Have humility and gratitude towards the less-privileged and less-fortunate. Thank and appreciate Maimunaji.

It looks simple but for a lady from one community to donate to people of other community is commendable. I am sure she must have had a very good upbringing. We also need to appreciate here immediate family members who allowed her to donate to the members of other community. May God bless her and her family members in the years to come.
