Udupi: Boy walking by fields falls, washed away

Udupi, Jul 8: A ten-year-old boy who was walking by the mud bunds of the agricultural fields slipped and fell into the field. He was thereafter washed away by flood water. The incident occurred at Bailakere within Malpe police station limits on Thursday July 7.

Pavan, son of Suresh from Bailakere in Tenkanidiyoor village was the victim of this accident. Pavan was walking by the side of the fields to reach the house of his grandmother for playing, when he slipped. He directly fell into the field filled with flood water. He was washed away and fell into a nearby pit. People called fire brigade and brought him out with the help of firemen but he had already died by then, it is gathered.

A case about the incident was filed in Malpe police station.

    A very unfortunate incident that a 10-year old boy lost his life while walking in a flooded field. May his soul rest in eternal peace and sympathies to his loved ones. Parents and others should not leave their children alone to go out in fields in this rainy weather.
