As per the details of the case, five youngsters from Ankadakatte had gone to Hosangadi Chandikamba temple in a Ford car on Saturday evening. When they were returning home, there was too much of fog on the hilly road and hence they drove slowly. A Duster car which was behind them hit their Ford car at Hosangadi. The former president of Siddapur and also an OC bidder, Sadananda Bhandary and Sudhir Shetty alias Appu were in the Duster car. When arguments took place regarding the accident, Appu pacified the youths to end the matter.

But when the Ford car carrying the youth reached Siddapur, a group of more than hundred people stopped the car and attacked the youths. Ajith and Nataraj sustained serious injuries with fractures on their hands.
