Kasargod, July 18: A young woman died while her husband and child have been injured in an accident in which the scooter they were travelling was hit by a lorry at Manjeshwar Hosangadi on Monday evening, July 18.
The deceased is identified as Muniba (25) from Manjeshwar Poyyathabail. Her husband Abbas (32) who was riding the scooter and their one and a half years old child Nusaiba have been admitted in the hospital with injuries.
The incident occurred when the family was returning after coming to Uppala. The fish laden lorry hit the scooter on the national highway near Hosangadi circle.
Muniba was thrown on the road in the impact and the lorry ran over her killing her instantly on the spot. The excessive speed of the lorry which was on its way from Mangaluru is said to be the cause of the accident. The dead body is presently kept in Mangalpady community hospital morgue.
