Karkala, Jul 19: “I condemn the step of the state Congress government to invoke Goonda Act against BJP and Sangh Parivar activists. I warn the government to stop doing this,” said Sunil kumar, the MLA from Karkala constituency and opposition chief whip in the State Assembly.
Sunil Kumar issued a press statement on the issue on Tuesday, July 18.
.
“BJP activists and some people from Hindu organisations are specifically targeted and false cases are registered against them. Then the Good Act is invoked to oppress and persecute them. The systematic suppression of Hindu activists is condemnable," Sunil Kumar says in the statement.
“The government is using the police department to identify the BJP and Sangh Parivar activists and then the process of arresting them is followed. This is done to protect the real anti-social elements and to appease a section of the society. It is unfortunate that the government is acting against our activists instead of acting against the people engaged anti-social activities,” Sunil Kumar says in the statement.
“If the government continues the same attitude, our activists will unitedly protest against this. If the government adapts the oppressive measures, our activities do not stop. But instead will intensify. Government and police department should realise this fact. We will never let down our activists at any time.” Statement from Sunil Kumar warns the government.
